2nd post of the day

So i haven't posted in forever, and now, I feel compelled to post twice in one day. I fell this morning on the way to work. I stepped on uneven pavement and i lost my balance. I scuffed my hand a little (which broke my fell), but I skinned my knee a-la-playing-outside-when-you-are-five. Somehow my pants were just a littled dirty, but my knee throbbed and bled a little on the inside of my pants. I really felt like just going home and calling it a day (i had only made it 1/2 block from my house), but per my other post today, work is just too insanely busy that missing it just means pile up the next day. At least when I was a kid I would get a kiss and some attention from the band-aid I was wearing.

My grandma fell on the ice yesterday; she's a little bruised, but nothing broken luckily. See, Grams, it can happen to anyone. There wasn't even ice.

Long time no post

Wow! I have been bad at posting.

It's been really insanely busy at work, which just makes everything more complicated. I went to Chicago for work last week, which was fine, but I would have preferred to do it some other time when I wasn't SO busy. I did catch up with Kent Narum and his wife in Chicago. They are a great couple--I really enjoyed chatting with them and it was like we hadn't skipped a beat. I would be busy anyway, but my boss is out of town and that makes it crazy. She is not on her game either so things keep popping up that make me have to jump into crisis mode. She's back next week, which will be good.

Ed's brother was in town this weekend and we took in the Cezanne exhibit at the National Gallery. It was great. Tonya hosted a fantastic game night on Saturday. We also saw Capote, which was slow at times but the performances were good. Patrick is touring with a children's theater company. He was currently in VA and drove up for the weekend.

That's all for now. I hope next week at this time I can report that the busy-ness is over.

Busy days!

Ahh busy days! Work was so slow between Christmas and New Years and now it is just insanely busy! I am in today (Sunday) for a couple of hours to prep for what will prove to be a crazy week.

We had a nice New Years. A group of us (11 I think?!) went out to a nice French Restaurant. I didn't feel well afterwards so we took a cab home and I rested for about an hour. Then I rallied and hit Jon's party to ring in the new year and wish Judes well as she heads off to be financial goddess of Sherrod Brown's campaign (donned in my PJs mind you--h-o-t)!!

Friday Brenda organized an impromptu dinner at the Thai place down the street. Great convo spilled over to Starbucks. Saturday we did some picking up around the house and luckily book club was postponed until Thursday (neither Ed nor I finished). We met up with Kevin and Tonya to see Munich, which was interesting but not necessarily captivating. PS it is long--about 3 hours. Last weekend Ed and I also saw Dick and Jane, which is an interesting commentary and has a few lols, but is mostly not worth the $$. Any great movies out there people?

So the best thing about this week being insane is that when it is over, Ed and I are going to AZ to see cousin Sara and beau (aka fiance), Dustin. SO excited about that!
