an interesting weekend
So yesterday Ed and I did some shopping—well mostly Ed did. He has lost a lot of weight and his summer clothes really didn’t fit, a good problem I guess. Anyway, we were leaving the mall and I realized that I had an Ann Taylor Loft gift certificate and I didn’t even go into the store. Anyway, we decided to grab a bite and then Ed went the grocery store and dropped me back at ATL. So I am browsing through the racks (starting at clearance first of course) and am in the back of the store. I notice this guy at the rack next to me out of the corner of my eye. He is really examining the clothes closely and I think “oh that’s nice he is buying something particular for g-fri/wife/mom etc” Ahhh no. Like three minutes later I hear the store manager yell “Sir, Sir…” (in increasing volume as the speed of her walking increases into a run after him out the door). He totally shop lifted, and I was totally oblivious. He did it very nonchalantly as well. Just walked right out. I felt like I was being watched closely after that.
Sat. night we used our tickets and saw The Persians, which is the oldest Western play in history. I really enjoyed—the story wasn’t as good as Don Juan (totally different obviously). The Shakespeare theater is just great! The productions are just a good quality, enjoyable affair. Oh we had book club before that which was a good time as always. I talked everyone into readying Love Medicine because the author is from North Dakota. I haven’t read it myself. Hopefully it will go over well because right now it has been coined the “drum beating chic-book” (we have a 2-1 ration of men to women in our group).
