Weekend Recap

Ed and I had a good weekend. He met me near my office and had dinner on Friday night at this Thai place. We came back to my office and Ed helped me do some web-updates, which is a new job that I have been assigned for one of my clients. It took almost 2 hours and I cringe to think how long it would have taken if it were just me trying—interuption there is a spider crawling on the wall in front of me, gross—anyway, he knew how to do a few things that I didn’t, but overall, I help my own. Sat. a.m. we went to Eastern Market and the gym. The gym has been missing me.

We said so-long (I never say good-bye) to our great friends Brad and Cynthia this weekend. Mad shout out to them on their adventure to London!!! Also, congrats to them getting married—I can’t believe I didn’t post that?!? Or did I—I am out of it. Anyway, we had a great time in our private shi-shi room at Felix (good work, Judes) on Sat. night and stayed out way past our bedtimes and then C and B joined us for dinner outside on Sunday night. The only other thing exciting for the weekend was that Ed and I took fly fishing classes through the LL Bean store at Tyson’s Corner. It was just a little over an hour and only $12. We want to do the kayaking one next!

Oh did anyone see the 9/11 special on Discovery last night? It was a renactment with real recordings from the air traffic control or left on people's answering machines and also interviews with friends/parents/spouces. I was paralyzed watching--it was so scary. Let me know if anyone saw it--i would like to debrief.

  • I think I know what special program you are referring to. When I was flying out of DC last Christmas, I was watching that program on the plane. (I thought it was the most appropriate thing to play on a plane ride.) Anyways, yeah, I was getting the heebie jeebies while watching it. The voice recordings were very eerie to hear. It was extremely sad. BTW, I took your before mentioned advice and watched Crash, finally. I thought that it was an extremely beautiful movie, one of the best that I've watched in a long time. I think the core problem among the characters was miscommunication and that that was one of the main messages in the movie, that miscommunication is what gets us as a society into this sort of trouble. It was very unpredictable and that was very refreshing.

  • I'd rather not say...for I think that maybe you do not remember me as I would have liked you to. All you need to know is that I've always thought that you were incredibly amazing. As for the plane ride entertainment, don't get the idea that we were forced to watch the show (which played continuously, hour after hour),it was merely that I had the choice between the hijackings or some 80's music video program playing Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus" continuously. After I couldn't settle down after watching Falco's lovely video the first time, I decided to watch the Discovery channel. So, you see, I wasn't forced to watch it or anything.
