Danny Came to Town

I forgot to mention that Danny came to DC this weekend in my things that I was looking forward to (per his comment on the previous post). We had a great time! He took our engagement pics at the Capitol. He also joined us at Blob's for some killer polkaing. It was great having him! Good times. He is doing well teaching the children of the nation. I give him major props!! Ed and I plan to go up to NY in Dec. to see him.

Last night we went to see Michael Brown, the former director of FEMA, speak. I was all ready to be unimpressed and annoyed, but I was surprised. He spoke honestly and objectively about what happened. He blamed the bureaucracy and the President, but he took plenty of blame for himself. It was really quite frightening how unprepared we are for any disaster. There was a great line he said about how government has made inconvenience = security.

Finally, as of today, Ed and I have been dating 4 years. I wonder when you quit honoring the dating anniversary. When you get married? What about the day you got engaged? Do you honor that? Confusing.

Speaking of getting married, I found a great bridesmaid dress.

Long Time

no post.

So Ed has been in Indiana and emerged victorious with Democrat Baron Hill winning IN-9. Go Dems! I just hope that we don't f anything up. That's all. Really though, things are f-ed, but I suppose they could be worse.

Highlights of the almost two weeks that Ed was gone include:

MINDY! She came, we ate, we shopped..we chatted...we chatted some more. We had a blast!

HALLOWEEN: there are about million trick or treaters on Capitol Hill. Met up with Brad and Cynthia, newly back from London, to give the trickers some treats. We ran out in about 10 mins. What a fun holiday though.

Homework. Not a real highlight, but I got alot done without being distracted.

HAPPY HOUR! We had an especially fun Happy Hour last Friday. We ate fried Macaroni and cheese (could there be ANYTHING worse for you) stayed late for us for a Friday: 10:00 p.m. Serious good times though.

BNL! Went to the Barenaked Ladies concert with Sarah on Saturday night. SUCH A GREAT time. I was on a high. They put on a great show and really just have a blast. So much good fun.

This weekend looks like some dinner clubbing as well as (hopefully) some Polkaing at Blob's. WOOHOO.
