Toothpaste and the Mayor

I am going to try and blog more often to get in the habit of keeping it up, and because work has slowed a little so I can kill some time.

Last night Ed and I went to the grocery store and bought $55 worth of groceries when we really only went in for a few things. And honestly, I am not sure where that all went...we didn't get very much. Then as we were leaving this guy was getting arrested. On the counter were about 12 tubes of toothpaste--no exageration--that apparently he had stolen. So in essence, our $55 groceries would be $35 anywhere else if people would stop stealing toothpaste.

Mayor Fenty joined Judy and me for aqua jogging at the pool today. Well, not really. He was done when we go there (which was 6:30 a.m.). I hope he noticed that they need new shower curtains in the locker rooms. :)

Start Spreading the News...

To not see this play if you are ever in New York...

The choices were limited this weekend to say the least due to the stagehands' strike. Mom and Dad were in town, and the plan was to do TKTS 1/2 price tickets, which usually works out swell. With the handers of the stage not at work, though, we found ourselves with basically nothing to see, so we saw The Perfect Crime, which is the longest running play in New York. Sounds like an endorsement...ah no. It's litterally held in the "Snapple" theater, which Danny aptly described as akin to "someone putting on a play in your basement." Anyway, the acting was good, as it should be given the talent pool in New York, but the plot and abrupt ending left something to be desired (such as an explanation).

Otherwise New York was very fun and we ate some great grub! We hit had a great meal at a restaurant called Extra Virgin in the West Village and had a fab brunch at the Eatery. I would highly recommend either if you happen upon the big apple.
