For V-day we decided to celebrate on Sat. instead of toughing the crowds on Wed.
We went out for sushi and saw
Babel, which I am going to go out on limb and say it gets Best Picture. It has human interaction theme of Crash with even more emotion. Alot of people were upset about Crash vs. Brokeback, but I understand it. Crash was a commentary on our modern world as is Babel. Babel gets it. I am going on record now.
Babel was fantastic, but it was at time upsetting and disturbing. The rawness of human nature is real, and the weaving of the story and the interlacing of who we are is humans is actually brillant.
We were going to get pizza at our favorite place--Joe's, which is a family owned restaurant that has been there for 25 years. We pulled up to the shop on Sunday, and it was closed! Sign down, cleared out close. I guess they were having problems renewing their lease. We did go to their other location which has the pizza and pasta buffet for $7.95 including drink. The old buffet was $4.95 plus drink. They also have gelato. I am not convinced it can be our new Joe's, but it will do for now.
UglyJuice is coming Thurs. Woohoo!
